Selling and buying bottles with the Canit app is fun and easy! Remember good Canit manners!
When selling
- Give detailed information on how to get to the pickup location. Use the additional information box feature in the Canit app for this.
- List only refundable bottles. If you have non-refundable bottles, do not include those in the listing.
- Collect your non-refundable bottles to a separate bag. You can ask if the buyer wants to drop those off for you as well.
- When you post your listing, list the correct number of bottles or bags. This way, you can avoid an uncomfortable situation at pickup.
- Be there when buyer arrives. If something comes up and you cannot be there, remove your listing and post it again later. Please inform the buyer about this via the chat box.
- Take the time to rate the trade afterwards. It’s just a simple thumbs up or thumbs down.
Good Canit manners when buying
- When you make a buy request, you are ready to pick up the refundables from the seller. If you cannot make it, remember do cancel your buy request.
- Be careful on people’s yards and keep off the grass.
- Keep the volume down in staircases and hallways.
- Take the time to rate the trade afterwards. It’s just a simple thumbs up or thumbs down.
Safety tips
Note that the Canit application shows the feedback given by other users. Based on the thumbs, you can evaluate and give feedback on the users.
The Canit app is available for anyone 16 years and older. If you are younger than this, you must have a permission from your parent or guardian. We have composed an info page for parents.
When selling
- You can provide additional information about how to find your place. You can give for example the door code or tell that you will meet the buyer at the front door of the building.
- If you don't want to meet the buyer at your home, you can give a bus stop nearby or a corner of a street and tell the buyer you will meet them there. Your exact address and additional information are visible only for the user you have selected as the buyer of your refundables - nobody else.
When buying bottles and cans
- If you are moving in a strange area and especially in dark, it is nice to take a friend with you.
- Especially younger Canit users should go with their parents or as a group. Always remember to tell your parent where and when you are going.
